ASPECT Studios is a leading landscape architecture and urban design practice with international reach. We are looking to grow our technology team with the addition of a Senior Systems Engineer. Reporting to the IT Manager and working closely with the Head of Technology, this role will be responsible for overseeing ASPECT Studios’ technology infrastructure and software systems, while providing user support across all Australian and international studios.
The Senior Systems Engineer will:
Initiate, design and lead digital and physical infrastructure projects, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance;
Monitor the health of our technology stack, ensuring operability whilst mitigating cybersecurity risk;
Lead the Level 3 support, architecture, design and security of our key infrastructure across our Servers, Cloud, Network and Storage technologies;
Perform backup administration, ensuring safe storage and retrieval of data from backup and DR solutions;
Provide support for incidents and service requests raised within the ticketing system, as required;
Produce regular reports and documentation on technology health, security, compliance and operations;
Understand the business, our data and how it’s structured, bridging the gap between IT and the wider practice.
Our ideal candidate will have excellent customer service and relationship management skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. You’ll have excellent verbal and written communications skills, and be able to articulate technical concepts to non-technical people. The successful candidate will ideally have experience working with multi-site and/or global operations. You’ll be able to independently monitor workflow and meet busy schedules while juggling and prioritising multiple tasks and projects. We’re looking for someone with around 7 – 10 years’ experience in IT, with proficiency in:
Microsoft end-user and Server environments including AD, DHCP, DNS, GPO;
Cloud-based Microsoft 365 products including Intune, Autopilot, AWS and Azure AD;
Networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS, Routing);
Virtualisation technologies (VMware, Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp);
SAN and NAS technologies (NetApp, HP StorageWorks);
Data and System backup management (Veeam, NetApp);
Automation and Scripting, including PowerShell.
Although not essential, experience in design, architecture, construction, or engineering environments will be highly regarded, including exposure to architectural/2D/3D technologies including Autodesk. A good understanding of managing core network technologies including Switching, Routing, Proxies and Firewalls will be highly advantageous.
