We are proud to be part of the winning team for the new Arthur Phillip High School and Parramatta Public School competition. We join lead architects Grimshaw and BVN in the design of these new and innovative public schools.
The winning scheme responds to Parramatta city’s dense population which is likely to increase by more than a third in between 2011 and 2036, and is based on a student centred approach to learning. It will create a series of teaching hubs within a 17 storey school building designed to address the increasing student population while still allowing children to learn in smaller groups within generous double storey volumes.
This concept of ‘A School within a School’ allows for more accessibility to outdoor learning spaces and flexible learning spaces which are key principles in the success of the ‘Schools of the Future’.
