Ballarat City Council launched its Central Business District (CBD) strategy last week. Councillors voted unanimously to adopt the strategy that provided a long-term vision for the next 25 years.
Ballarat’s CBD Strategy was the largest structure plan undertaken in Victoria and incorporates 12 months of public consultation with a range of stakeholders (commerce, retail, land owners, heritage groups, youth and residents). The purpose of the strategy is to encourage and guide the rapid growth of the city whilst maintaining and enhancing the city’s best assets.
ASPECT Studios worked with Planisphere (lead consultants), AECOM, Village Well, VEIL and Urban Enterprise. ASPECT Studios provided the public realm and urban design advice as well as concept images, high quality visualisation and an animation to help communicate the project.
