ASPECT Studios were invited by John Wardle Architects to design the public realm of the Stage Two design competition for the City of Sydney's Green Square Library.
One of five shortlisted entries – the ASPECT Studios, John Wardle Architects and Dani Marti collaboration entry exhibits a civic generosity that connects library, landscape, art, sustainability and community.
The public realm was designed to integrate inextricably with the program of the library building. The various external public landscape rooms create places to read, learn, and socialize. They will be places where people will want to work stay play. These external rooms facilitate a richness of public experiences and moods by changing scales and tempos.
