Locals Welcome the Reopening of St James Park

Locals enjoyed a sunny and fun day with free tennis lessons and live music at the reopening of St James Park in Glebe, Sydney. The Lord Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore made the official announcement citing:

“This upgrade to St James Park is the latest example of the City’s work to provide our local residents with high-quality community spaces and attractive places to relax.”

“Well-designed parks and open spaces are vital for people with small backyards or none at all, and we have hundreds of green spaces in our city, including award-winners such as Hyde Park, Prince Alfred Park, Redfern Park and Paddington Reservoir Gardens.”

The upgraded park designed by ASPECT Studios includes a bespoke tree house, sandpit, expanded turf areas, bird-attracting planting, and a new timber pavilion which provides amenities, kitchenette, and viewing area that overlooks the tennis courts.
