Melbourne Design Award Win
The Melbourne Design Awards, organised by the Design Institute of Australia (Victoria Branch) and A Thinking Company, celebrates and honours the role of design and the skills of designers. ASPECT Studios is proud of the three projects submitted that were nominated as finalists, two of which won their respective categories. West Gate Freeway Driving Simulator Winner: Digital Experience (Games)   Our digital media team produced a serious game to simulate the West Gate freeway upgrade as part of an education program to help people learn the new freeway system. The game is a high quality 3D interactive driving simulation where players must successfully navigate from entry to exit points.   Discover more about the Driving Simulator > ‘The Spirit of Barak Trail’ The Green SpineChirnside Park Winner: Landscape Architecture   A sustainable, green gateway to the Shire of Yarra Ranges, along one of its major roads – Maroondah Highway. The spine creates an easily identifiable ‘green lung’ and 'heart' for the Chirnside Park Major Activity Centre and a ‘sustainable’ brand and identity for the Shire. It provides a shared pathway with links to neighbouring areas, delivers improvements in storm water quality via swales, rain gardens and ephemeral wetlands, and captures solar energy to light the shared path.   Discover more about 'The Spirit of Barak Trail' The Green Spine Chirnside Park >   City of Whitehorse Signage Strategy Finalist: Graphic Design (Environmental Graphics)   ASPECT Studios created a municipal wide signage strategy for the City of Whitehorse tackling identity, branding, accessibility and sustainability, delivering a contemporary family of signage sympathetic to its placement within the natural and urban settings.   Discover more about the City of Whitehorse Signage Strategy > Discover more about The Melbourne Design Awards 2011 >.   Return to News
