Pop Up Park and Victoria Park Redevelopment Honoured with State and National PLA Awards of Excellence
ASPECT Studios was recently awarded the National Awards of Excellence in the Inclusive and Connected Communities category for the Dandenong Pop Up Park and in the Parks category for the Victoria Park Redevelopment (in collaboration with City of Yarra) at the Parks and Leisure Australia Awards (PLA). This achievement follows the successful win (in the same category) at the State awards (Victoria).   In addition to the PLA Awards, the Dandenong Pop Up Park was a finalist in the 2012 Victorian Premiers Design Awards. The POP-UP-PARK (PUP) project is a temporary community recreational facility. Consisting of two small sided soccer pitches, community garden and BBQ area, and a grassed area, this community friendly space forms part of the Places Victoria’s (formerly VicUrban) Revitalising Central Dandenong project (RCD). Victoria Park Redevelopment is the transformation of the former home of the Collingwood Football Club into a community place that caters for both current sport scheduling and as a venue of passive and active events for local and wider community.   Click here to discover more about Dandenong Pop Up Park.
