Sydney project wins top award in Asia Pacific Region

Darling Quarter, a new public project and interactive playspace in Sydney has been given the top design award in the Asia pacific region.

The President’s Award, given by the International Federation of Landscape Architects Asia Pacific Region (IFLA) is the highest possible design award.

This public space award compliments the recent recognition for the project at the World Architecture festival where it was awarded “Best Commercial Building’.

To date the project has won 20 awards, as it has been recognised for revitalising the city edge of Sydney, and delivering a high level of innovation in terms of its ‘place making’ and building social infrastructure with people focussed outcomes.

The interactive water playspace is the centre piece of the public space design and is the first of its kind in Australia.
