Maarten is the International Director at ASPECT, with over 30 years’ experience in design, project management and business development in the landscape architecture and urban design industry.
Maarten excels in managing studios and design firms and, prior to joining ASPECT, led his own landscape architectural practice for thirteen years in Cairns, Australia. His design experience spans across a plethora of projects and geographies, greatly varying in nature, scale, size and complexity.

Maarten’s experience working in the UK, Europe, Canada, the Middle East and Australia included project management for several large and complex urban design projects requiring a thorough understanding of the particularities and sensitivities of the strongly politicised local planning requirements and stakeholder consultation processes.
Maarten’s international experience as well as his work in both urban and rural Australia has provided him with a broad and truly global outlook on landscape architecture.
