The International Towers Sydney are three commercial developments at Barangaroo South in Sydney. ASPECT | OCULUS were engaged to design a series of landscaped spaces both internal and external as part of the fitout of Tower Two. The design process was led by our deep understanding of the important role landscape can play within the development of a workplace environment.

Bringing a sense of green into the workplace

The design approach enables workers to experience a sense of green within the workplace and allows for flexible outdoor work and social spaces that enhance the work environment and contribute to workplace productivity. The design is comprised of the following spaces:

  • An inviting lobby space with mature indoor trees with feature uplighting
  • Planting integrated within joinery pieces on each floor throughout the office fitout
  • Greening of the staff library with hanging planters and window planter boxes
  • Vertical planting to the wall of the wellness centre
  • The Level 3 communal terrace – the focal point of the project with seating and loose furniture integrated within large expanses of decorative planting that provide space for staff to work and socialise
  • Planted balcony spaces with climbing plants installed on a growing frame which runs up the northern facade of the building
