HKLand The Ring Shopping Mall
Nestled in Chongqing’s urban heart, ASPECT Studios has crafted a journey through fantasy and natural wonder at The Ring, a landmark community-oriented retail destination.
The Ring reimagines the traditional retail environment, which has been turned on its head in recent years by online shopping culture and the COVID-19 pandemic. As the first of developer Hong Kong Land’s new experience-based retail destinations, the project shifts the emphasis from commercial exchange to social exchange and connection to nature through the provision of much-needed accessible public open space, a multitude of facilities, and unique indoor and outdoor experiences tailored for the enjoyment of a diverse community.

The biophilic lookout floats over the community a plaza proving people with a unique perspective immersed in nature.
The project’s defining features include an arrival park inspired in composition by the sea floor, a community plaza that references a steamy mountain pass, and a sky garden that provides both a peaceful retreat from the bustle of the lower levels and a home for local pollinators and other wildlife.
