It has been a bumper couple of days for our collaborators at Australian Institute of Architects’ awards ceremonies across the country.
Five projects in five states received twelve awards across a variety of scales and typologies.
Geelong Laneways Malop Arcade by NMBW Architecture Studio with ASPECT Studios by the Victorian Government and the City of Greater Geelong received the Award for Small Project Architecture at the Victorian Architecture Awards.
In Queensland, Kangaroo Point Bridge by Blight Rayner Architecture with Dissing+Weitling along with design from Brisbane City Council with Arup, and Cox Architecture received three awards, including the state’s highest architectural honour, the Queensland Architecture Medallion.
A sensitive renewal of a heritage icon in Sydney, the Boot Factory by Archer Office and in collaboration with Matt Devine received the Milo Dunphy Award for Sustainable Architecture and an Award for Interior Architecture at the NSW Architecture Awards. The Sydney Metro Stations won the Lloyd Rees Award for Urban Design and the NSW Architecture Medallion.
