The building represents an exciting opportunity to reinforce the value of landscape as a defining and major structuring element for the campus. The project marks the beginning of a visionary transformation that will unlock the campus centre, consolidate the academic core, and provide a new address for the university.
Our landscape concept builds upon the principals and vision of the original master plan, with an emphasis on creating a uniquely West Australian “bush campus” setting structured around Banksia Court. The project will establish a new boulevard entry to the campus that links into the existing campus network and supports student access and activity along its length.
The design includes is a series of high-quality crafted interventions that carefully integrate into the existing topography, built fabric and landscape context. The new building and landscape work together to make all manner of new activations possible, setting the stage for a wider cultural and spatial transformation of Murdoch campus.
