Tamara Donnellan
Studio Director
Tamara is a Studio Director of ASPECT’s Sydney Studio and brings over twenty years’ experience to the practice. She is an expert in stakeholder engagement and consultation, client briefing and liaison, and excels in design strategy, coordination of project teams and execution of projects across all phases of the design process.
Tamara has worked on numerous strategic, urban and master planning projects from inception, through to management and delivery. She is greatly valued by clients for her ability to prosecute a project without departure from its agreed conceptual base. She reduces the risk for clients and the team in her ability to digest the detailed technical, political and emotional aspects of projects. This extremely high level of quality control along with a highly synthetic, strategic and conceptual intelligence enables high quality urban project outcomes.
The Australian Institute of Architects acknowledged her significant achievements in architectural practice, education and advocacy with the AIA (NSW Chapter) 2010 Emerging Architect Prize.
Tamara believes that successful urban design involves understanding a range of factors and forces. Some of these are spatial and built, while others relate to the political, economic and governance realms and all aspects feed into achieving high quality place and public benefit outcomes. She appreciates, understands and makes use of the fact that cities are ecosystems underpinned by green infrastructure, and that it is this infrastructure which has the greatest potential to uplift the health and wellbeing of places and their environmental systems.
