Sustainability

The climate is changing, and the effects of this change will alter our lives in a fundamental way.

This is an environmental emergency that will intensify, and it is in this context that we design adaptive and regenerative places on behalf of people and the natural world.

ASPECT Studios is a leading international design practice, and a key strength of our designs are that they foster sustainable processes and outcomes.

While design is a creative practice, good design is informed by evidence. We work with collaborators to undertake studies of microclimate, soil and ecology, arboriculture, wind analysis, green ratio and many other quantitative assessments to inform our designs and to assist our clients understand the impacts of design decisions. We also undertake post-evaluation studies to track how our projects are performing after completion.
Where appropriate, we pursue sustainability certifications – like LEED, NABERS and Green Star in an Australian context. We understand how to effectively apply digital tools like Pathfinder, Carbon Conscience and Landscape Carbon Calculator to identify how our projects perform as a part of a broader carbon economy.

ASPECT Studios is taking action, and we are engaged in a continual process of finding ways to do what we do better.

ASPECT Studios is committing to:

- Hold ourselves, our clients, and our collaborators accountable for delivering more sustainable environment, social and economic) outcomes.

- Acknowledge the traditional owners continuing connections to all the lands that we work on.
