Aedas New Financial District Phase 1
ASPECT Studios was inspired by the passing of seasons in its design for the Nanjing Jiangbei Financial Centre. With a project area of 100,000 square meters of urban landscape that merges life and nature at its core. This new financial commercial district. marks an important part of the development of Nanjing’s Jiangbei New District, and as such it sets a standard for the public realm in a quickly changing quarter of a fast-moving city.

A series of 12 connected urban block, conceptually defined into four principal areas inspired by the character and moments of each season. The central park inspired by autumn, conceptualized the idea of walking of fallen leave, with an arrangement of leave canopies that provide collection of storm water harvesting, and a carpet of indigenous planting species as the base of cultural and entertainment activities. The leaf like canopies is activated above and below, creating spaces for F&B, cafes and kiosks and outside social spaces in shaded shelter.
Within each space the landscape design makes use of consistent materials and planting to stitch the project into a cohesive whole. The financial center is poised to become the heart of the Jiangbei New District, and ASPECT Studios’ contribution to it will ensure that commerce, culture and community can prosper freely and comfortably in the public realm.
