Elizabeth Quay Playground
Negotiating the tight curl and topography of a small reclaimed island in the Swan River, this play space in the Elizabeth Quay parkland in central Perth uses carefully modulated screening to create a sense of arrival.
The compact adventure and nature play space is densely populated with activities for a broad range of ages and abilities, and has taken on board a maritime theme that leverages the nearby replica of the barque Duyfken that sailed to Australia in 1606.

An interactive water play channel with a sluice gate, sand table and shore-style sand pit offer tactile and creative nature play opportunities. These play elements are arranged around a universally accessible circular pathway, which ensures equitable access and a line-of-sight for carers.
