Perry Park

We’re passionate about ensuring that densification is done well. Cities should be exciting, convenient and desirable places for families to live. Residents in Sydney’s inner-city suburb of Alexandria now have access to world-class, FIFA-certified sports facilities at the revitalised Perry Park. ASPECT Studios led a design team in creating an accessible and leafy setting that boasts dozens of new and retained native trees.

The team’s shared commitment to ensuring the public has access to high-quality spaces and recreation facilities is on display in the new amenities building designed by Scale Architecture. Safety by design principles were worked into the project, with permeability, open sight lines and lighting improving security.

The planting design called for a pallette of largely native plants and the retention of key existing fig trees to maximise shade and canopy coverage.
The project is well fed by sustainable and active transport links, with the Bourke Street cycleway leading to the park entrance, connecting it to people from the surrounding suburbs of Zetland, Waterloo, Surry Hills, Redfern and Green Square.
