ASPECT Studios commitment to quality public spaces and authentic collaboration has again been recognised at AILA’s South Australian and Western Australian Awards night held on Friday 26th July 2019.
SA Landscape Architecture Awards
Parks & Open Space + Healthy Parks Healthy People SA Award
In the ‘Parks & Open Space’ category, Pelzer Park / Pityarilla (Park 19) Activity Hub won the Award of Excellence. Felixstow Reserve collected the Landscape Architecture Award in the same category. Felixstow Reserve was further honoured, winning an Award of Excellence in the Cultural Heritage category, and the inaugural ‘Healthy Parks Healthy People SA Award’.

Yagan Square
Multiple award winner Yagan Square received the Award of Excellence for Tourism and Landscape Architecture Awards for Civic Landscape.

Of Pelzer Park / Pityarilla (Park 19) Activity Hub, the Jury congratulated the project team for “achieving excellent results through a commendable design and engagement process”.
Similarly, the Jury acknowledged Felixstow Reserve as a “meaningful, sensitive and thoughtfully considered reserve upgrade… informed by an exemplary process to engage and collaborate with the Kaurna community”

Both projects have a strong focus on preservation and restoration of the natural environment, celebrating culture and the rich local history, and deliver positive, healthy outcomes for the broader community into the future.

The WA AILA Jury praised Yagan Square “weaves together an entrancing story of Western Australia, of its indigenous peoples and its remote landscapes”
