At ASPECT Studios, we are committed to developing culturally appropriate engagement and design responses, educating our people and advocating for reconciliation in our profession. To do this, we acknowledge that we have much to learn from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to ensure we design with Country at the centre of our process.
Our studios are taking part in Connection to Country workshops with help from Indigenous artist Tom Day and our Senior Associate, Anne Marie Pisani.
The sessions provide the opportunity for our people to learn about the essential qualities of place, our landscape and its history, social rituals and cultural significance, plus engagement techniques that ensure we continue to design with creative solutions that enrich the way people interact with place.
Thank you to Tom Day for sharing stories, wisdom, and knowledge in this space and inspiring us to actively cultivate an environment which respects and values Indigenous peoples and their living culture.
