It was a privilege for Anne-Marie Pisani, First Peoples' Partnership and Design Lead, to be welcomed onto Larrakia Country in Garramilla/Darwin for the 2025 AIATSIS Summit.
The week was filled with opportunities to deepen shared understandings and celebrate contemporary innovation, cultural strength, and community.

Anne-Marie presented ASPECT’s approach to Designing with Country, sharing how we collaborate with First Nations communities to embed cultural values and stories in place. Other highlights included showcasing our co-design with Dja Dja Wurrung artist Aunty Marilyne Nicholls for the Bendigo Law Courts Forecourt in Victoria, and our in-progress work on Central Park in Sydney’s Bradfield. These projects reflect a deep commitment to respectful, inclusive design processes that centre First Nations knowledge.

Our thanks to AIATSIS and all participants for a meaningful and inspiring Summit experience.
