ASPECT Studios is excited to announce the appointment of Simon Grimbley as Studio Director. Simon will lead the development of our emerging London studio, drawing on a depth of experience in designing major projects across the UK and abroad to begin an exciting new chapter in ASPECT’s story.

Wherever ASPECT operates, we search for people who share our values and purpose-driven approach. We’re happy to have found just such a leader in Simon, whose success in building successful teams, managing growing practices and passion for design neatly aligns with what ASPECT does well.

An award-winning landscape architect and urban designer, Simon has developed his approach over more than twenty-five years working within some of the world’s leading design practices. His ability to foster collaboration with clients and design partners, and to create working environments where new ideas are allowed to flourish, will define his work as Studio Director.

Simon brings an imaginative and collaborative approach to projects of all scales. He has produced high-value, complex projects that span a variety of sizes, sectors, and continents, united by the common goal of creating people-focused spaces that connect to nature and elevate the human experience.

Previously, he played a key role in the design of the multi award-winning Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. His involvement continued into the development of the post-Games Legacy Development Framework. Following this, he was involved in several substantial international projects, including Msheireb Downtown and Education City in Doha, and leading the landscape design team for the Olympic Park constructed for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Ivan Ross, CEO of ASPECT Studios, said, “Simon’s skills and drive will complement the purpose-led work we do at ASPECT Studios. He will help us to realise our ambitions in the UK, Europe, Middle East– namely, to create a base from which to design places that benefit both people and the natural world.”

Simon Grimbley, ASPECT Studios Studio Director, said, "I’m delighted to be joining ASPECT’s London team, which will enhance the global position of a highly respected design practice. We share the same values and I’m looking forward to promoting ASPECT’s ethos for exciting yet sustainable design and positive collaboration to the UK, Europe and MENA. I can’t wait to get started.”
