Michèle Farley

Associate Studio Director
Michèle is the Associate Studio Director of ASPECT Studios in London. She helps lead the development of the practice’s presence in the United Kingdom and Europe. As a designer and strategist, she has led major projects to completion, and she possesses a keen sense for how to thoughtfully and effectively lead her team.
She previously worked at ASPECT Studios in Sydney for several years. Prior to joining the London studio, she held a role at Gillespies, where she was involved in the design of several large-scale public realm projects, including the St. Helier Waterfront Framework and a landscape-led masterplan for Bankside Yards, a mixed-use masterplan adjacent to Tate Modern in London. In keeping with her interest in research and development, Michèle introduced several successful initiatives to Gillespies, including a talk series where she invited an international field of experts to join a conversation about the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.
In Australia, Michèle worked across a wide range of projects, from feasibility studies to concept design and delivery. Her key projects during this time include the Australian Technology Park, the renewal of a former locomotive workshop in Sydney, which Michèle guided from planning to delivery. She was lead consultant and lead designer for Gate 9 at University of New South Wales, during which time she gained valuable experience working with complex stakeholder consultation processes and managing large consultant teams.
Michèle is a collaborator who looks for opportunities to blur the lines between art, architecture and landscape architecture. Michèle’s approach to the design process begins with understanding the qualities of place to reveal the hidden assets that make each project unique and memorable.
