The playground incorporates an interactive water play channel, sand table, a 12 by 7 metre sandpit and a custom designed adventure play structure. This structure incorporates 6 platforms at differing heights and offers play challenges for numerous ages and abilities. These play elements are arranged around an equitably accessible circular pathway which ensures opportunities for children of all abilities to interact with all play components within easy view of carers.
The comfort of carers was also an important consideration of the design and is evident through the location of shade and seating elements.

ASPECT Studios was engaged by the MRA to deliver a children’s playground with an emphasis on natureplay and adventure play at the Elizabeth Quay development in Perth’s CBD. The site is uniquely located on a man-made island within the new parkland precinct and is adjacent to a moored replica of the historical Duyfken ship.
References have been made to the boat and its craftsmanship through the use of materials and forms with a maritime theme throughout the playground.
