Underpinned by creative media

Shanghai Dream Center is located in the post-industrial river front of the rapidly evolving West Bund area of Shanghai and will be transformed into a destinational waterfront park and creative retail district.

Developed by DreamWorks, Lan Kwai Fong, CMC and CDB, Shanghai Dream Center is one of the largest dedicated cultural projects in China. It is a landmark development along the Huangpu River and the central component of the West Bund Media Port. This project will combine global entertainment, culture, and retail and creative-office development. Situated on the grounds of a shuttered cement factory, the complex will have five major live-performance venues with 8,500 seats in total, including a 3,000-seat facility housed in the oldest dome where cement was once mixed. In addition to hosting international touring productions of musicals, concerts and dramas.

Covering a total area of more than 15.2 hectares, Shanghai Dream Center is the highlight of the first 9 blocks to be developed which comprise the future West Bund Media Port. Underpinned by creative media, technology and cultural industries, the former factories and facilities with a hundred year heritage will be transformed into a vibrant space incorporating active plazas, children’s play, waterfront recreation opportunities and a mix of historic and modern public buildings.
