Casuarina Park rests within the aptly named Redlands area, internationally famous for its deep red and incredibly nutrient rich soils. This geology has supported a diverse and unique ecological and cultural character across the Redlands and into the Woodbury area.

Casuarina Park responds to the site story to capture the essence of the existing site character and experience. Taking advantage of the sites unique topography, dam bund, and vegetation, Casuarina Park explores ideas of enclosure and reveal with a greater focus on nature play and exploration.
The park is strategically designed with the indigenous Tugapin axis in mind. Allowing for depth of meaning and relevance whilst allowing children and families alike to experience a multitude of play experiences and potential event spaces.

The concept was then further refined through consultation outcomes and community feedback, ensuring community expectations and needs are embedded within the parkland.
