COHL Uni Park
This unique mixed-use project in Foshan was the product of a collaborative design process between ASPECT’s studios in Shanghai and Sydney. The COHL Foshan Uni-Mall positions the landscape as a key attraction, drawing visitors first to its parks, gardens and plazas and then to its range of retail outlets.
At the heart of the project is an integrated children’s water play park, which is accessible at no cost, providing families with entertainment and relief from the South China heat. The public domain balances local granite with natural green elements, including a wide array of indigenous shrubs, trees and palms which provide additional shade to the play and resting areas.

The COHL Foshan Uni-Mall sets a new benchmark for mixed-use retail destinations in China. As the first retail water play park in South China, this project marries a family-oriented destination with a substantial financial uplift. It also acts as a statement on the client’s commitment to exploring and implementing new ideas, and its commitment to creating family-based retail experiences in a socially supportive environment. This mixed-use project also shows how the landscape can be central to attracting people to a space and possess social benefits that alone provide a long-term return on investment.
