Sustainability

At ASPECT Studios, our purpose is to enhance the lives of people and natural systems in an enduring way through design.

Core to this is a commitment to sustainable action, which acknowledges the intrinsic importance of our climate, natural environments, biodiversity, and local peoples and cultures. We create places through design that bring people and communities together and work with deep respect for the natural environment. To address sustainability issues, including the urgency to act on climate change, we must connect this belief to action.
Our approach allows us to adapt to the evolving needs and opportunities facing our clients, and the environments and geographies we work in. As a collective of people deeply motivated by sustainable practice, each stage of our design process embodies and expresses this sustainable ethos.

Our greatest strength lies in deeply understanding a place, revealing what is possible. We recognise that as designers, we play a crucial role in protecting, enhancing, and regenerating the environments that surround us, the cultures we interact with and learn from, and the communities that we touch through our work.

To that end, we have adopted the following principles, which guide who we are and how we work:

- We craft designs for our clients that advance sustainability and bring to life their commitments and objectives through design.

- We create a workplace where our people are supported with the tools, training and techniques needed to address the most pressing matters, and continually advance the breadth and diversity of our capabilities in sustainability and environmental matters

- We share our knowledge and insight freely, recognising that we are playing a role in advocating for broader and necessary change.

- We capture the impact we make, celebrate it, challenge it and learn from it, recognising that every step is a step forward.

- We challenge ourselves to take the most sustainable course of action available and known to us at the time.

Our principles are central to the work that we do through year-on-year plans that describe what is important to us, and what we are doing to address it. While our areas of focus and actions might change over time, our principles are enduring.
