2023 AILA Festival of Landscape Architecture

The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects’ Festival of Landscape Architecture is a perennial highlight – a rare and valuable opportunity to connect with our peers to celebrate and expand the potential of our work.

Taking place in Tarntanya/Adelaide from 19 to 22 October, this year’s festival, UN/EARTH, was particularly special for ASPECT Studios, with our own Associate Lyndon Slavin a core part of the creative directorate.

We’d like to congratulate AILA for assembling four days of stimulating events, with an amazing array of speakers from backgrounds as diverse as the arts, microbiology, geomorphology, design and First Nations perspectives.

The talks were complemented with expeditions through the landscape, reinforcing the ‘physical and metaphoric soil horizons upon which landscape architecture practice is founded’.

Another highlight was a well-attended tour of Festival Plaza, led by our Adelaide Studio Director Tim Conybeare, which illuminated the complex project of rejuvenating one of Adelaide’s newest and most important public event spaces.
