ASPECT Studios shows commitment to Sydney with leadership appointments

ASPECT Studios Sydney has enjoyed nearly two and a half decades of contributing to the transformation of our city and surrounds.

Through a series of appointments and promotions we are elevating our people to ensure we are strengthening our commitment to the important and complex work we undertake in Sydney and the region.


Louise Pearson will join Tamara Donnellan and Sacha Coles as a Studio Director, while Bianca Pineda has been appointed Associate Studio Director. Nick Duggan has joined ASPECT as Sydney’s Senior Studio Manager, relieving Matthew Shaw, who has stepped into a global role as Commercial Manager.


Director Sacha Coles said these appointments demonstrate the confidence ASPECT has in the capability of its people.


“Perhaps now more than ever, there are real opportunities for landscape architects and urban designers to lead the transformation of Sydney,” he said. “The public realm is increasingly recognised as an important part of a bigger project to improve the city.”


Sacha will continue his role as Director and Studio Director of the Sydney studio but will also take on a group wide design leadership role, focusing on mentoring and deepening the design capabilities of our global team.


The Sydney studio has grown substantially in recent years as a consequence of its major contributions to the city’s urban fabric. From the transformation of George Street as part of the Light Rail project, to the Quay Quarter development, to the rejuvenation of Darling Harbour and Darling Square, to the Goods Line linear park ­– ASPECT Studios has seized on opportunities to make Sydney a more generous city and a better place to live.


We are elevating several of our most talented designers to senior leadership positions to capitalise on the work they have done leading city-shaping projects. We know that ASPECT has a defining role in to play in guiding Sydney’s future and Bianca and Louise have an important role to play.


Louise Pearson - Formalising her ongoing contribution to studio culture and design excellence, Louise joins Tamara Donnellan and Sacha Coles as a Studio Director. Louise will continue her design leadership across all projects in the studio.

Bianca Pineda - Bianca has been appointed Associate Studio Director in recognition of her leadership of various complex urban projects such as the multi-award-winning Loftus Lanes at Quay Quarter and growing leadership in studio management and business development.

Nick Duggan – Nick joins ASPECT with architectural business management experience following and early career experience in finance. Nick will supporting the contractual and commercial needs of projects.
