Sydney’s Parramatta Light Rail stage two has reached a significant milestone with the approval of the Environmental Impact statement (EIS) for this city–shaping transport and place project.

The EIS illustrates the broad range of benefits that can be delivered with unwavering design-led transport planning.

Parramatta Light Rail is part of the NSW Government’s Greater Sydney Region Plan, ‘A Metropolis of Three Cities’. This undertaking highlights Greater Parramatta as the focus for the Central River City.

As such, Parramatta Light Rail will deliver an integrated light rail service to support population and employment growth, blending with existing and future modes of transport in the area such as trains, ferries, and pedestrian and bicycle networks. PLR Stage 2 will connect Parramatta to several significant locations throughout Sydney, including Wentworth Point, Sydney Olympic Park, Camellia, and Melrose Park.

We’re looking forward to seeing further stages of this project come to fruition in the coming years.
