The ACU Young Street Campus Park project follows the completion of the new St Teresa of Kolkata Building. It involved the demolition of an existing multi-storey car park structure, alleviating space for a new campus heart and green space.

The design of the 1,800m2 park, developed in close consultation with ACU’s team incorporates symbols of faith and unity, such as the circle and the cross, to inform the design of furniture and paving. It will provide spaces for social gatherings, outdoor study and quiet contemplation, with lawn areas, diverse planting, and a significant number of new trees.

John Kouris – State Development Manager (Vic/SA) of ACU says, “This exciting new Park in the heart of the ACU Melbourne campus, will offer a place of sanctuary, contemplation and of learning in nature’s greatest classroom. I look forward in sitting under one of the trees and immersing myself in a book within the serenity and tranquillity that this Park will provide for our University campus.”

The Campus Park is anticipated to be completed in the second half of 2024.
