ASPECT Studios is proud to announce that Sacha Coles, Director of ASPECT Studios, has been selected as an independent expert member for the New South Wales (NSW) State Design Review Panel (SDRP) pilot program. Sacha is one of five landscape architects appointed by the NSW Government Architect (GANSW), Peter Poulet, to the panel of 40 leading urbanists, landscape architects and architects to provide independent and impartial advice on design quality, recommendations and evaluation. The announcement, made today by the NSW Minister for Planning, Minister for Housing, and Special Minister of State, The Hon. Anthony Roberts, is one of the highest honours the GANSW can bestow, recognising not only Sacha’s achievements in Landscape Architecture as an individual; but also his contribution to the profession and to society. “Having a diverse group of expert and experienced voices guiding the decisions of the Department will not only ensure that we continue to have a strong assessment process, but also ensure the community has an even greater say on the future direction of planning and design.” Mr Roberts said. Sacha is a former State President and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects. With a diverse and celebrated portfolio of landscape architecture and urban design, Sacha has advanced the international conversation about design, society, urbanism, innovation and - most importantly - the environment. ASPECT Studios is privileged to have three directors on state design review panels with Kirsten Bauer sitting on the Victorian panel, and Tim Conybeare on the South Australian panel.
